About the book
Long before written history, the people of Ukraine explained the world through a living mythology — a cosmos of forest spirits, water maidens, household guardians and ancient gods that grew from the wider Slavic tradition and from the land itself: the Carpathian mountains, the Dnipro river, the dark forests and the open steppe.
Ukrainian Mythology is an illustrated introduction to that world. It gathers the creatures and beliefs that shaped how generations imagined nature, home and the turning of the seasons — a doorway into Ukrainian culture for curious readers, families and anyone drawn to folklore and Slavic myth.
